A soldered edge, called a Beaded Edge, takes a lot of practice! Balancing molten solder on the edge of the glass is an art in and of itself.

Cut glass, grind to smooth, apply copper foil, then SOLDER! I apply flux to get the solder to flow. Then add molten solder. I add beads of solder to keep everything in place, then go back and smooth everything out.
